Two lifelong friends recount how a shared passion for hiking led them deep into the legendary Bluff Creek area, the site of the famous Patterson-Gimlin film. Their discovery of mysterious tree structures and a potential Sasquatch footprint sparked a return trip just two weeks later, where they made their first footprint cast, transforming their outdoor hobby into a dedicated investigation.
Eric and Glenn, childhood friends, trace their Bigfoot research back to the Patterson-Gimlin film and their evolution from heavy backpackers to lightweight gear enthusiasts. They describe a solo night investigation with cameras and audio recorders, and trail camera footage of a large, hairy arm. Suspecting Sasquatch, they detail how peanut butter bait was taken from a high-hanging, zip-tied jar without bear or bite marks, leaving only lids. Strange encounters include apples disappearing without a trace and a violent trailer rocking incident at night, with a log and Y-shaped stick left behind. They contrast the safety of Mount St. Helens with unease in the LBL, and recall aggressive sounds recorded at Falls Creek. A trail cam video from Bluff Creek captured unexplained footsteps and a distant reply, while tree structures and X marks are interpreted as territorial markers. A mysterious disappearing tree was caught on camera, vanishing without a trace. Analyzing a GoPro video, they conclude a figure was much taller than a person, causing greater water displacement. They recorded a whistle-like sound and found an 11.5-inch single footprint along the Kalama River, with footprint ratios suggesting a possible juvenile Sasquatch. Their first footprint cast at Bluff Creek hooked them on research. Eric leans toward a biblical Nephilim theory, while Glenn believes Bigfoot is a humanoid with possible paranormal connections, arguing that the abundance of evidence and local laws protecting Bigfoot indicate it is real.
