How AI Companies Are Using AI
A recent report from Iconiq Capital sheds light on how companies, especially AI-native ones, are integrating artificial intelligence into their operations and products. As AI adoption accelerates, businesses face a mix of opportunities and challenges in deploying models effectively at scale.
The report highlights that most AI-native companies are advancing rapidly in product development, with many building AI agents. Organizations typically use around 2.8 models, favoring OpenAI for its accuracy and cost efficiency. Deployment remains challenging due to issues like hallucinations, explainability, and talent shortages. Thirty-two percent of firms are already using AI agents, and internal AI budgets are projected to nearly double by 2025. Productivity gains, particularly in coding assistance through tools like GitHub Copilot, are among the clearest benefits. However, identifying viable use cases and integrating AI into legacy systems remain key hurdles for technical and business leaders alike.
